Or
should I say part one. I arrived at 1:30 A.M Wed the 23rd
after collecting my luggage and getting past customs it was past 2
then off the the place I would be staying for the rest of the
morning. I was not tired after sleeping a large portion of the last
leg of the trip but forced myself to sleep the next few hours.
The day was
pretty uneventful I got to go to a gym and do some cardio so I was
happy as a girl could be and went to bed at about 3:30 local time.
I was all
kinds of pumped finding out that 5 A.M the sun rises so after a good
amount of sleep I was ready to start my day.
Day 2ish
This is THE
day Koala day! We went to this awesome park and you could go in the
Koala exhibit and pet the Koalas and get super close...Can you see my
excitement?
I got checked into my hotel to find out I got upgraded to an apartment! I was so stoked..fridge, sink, next to the pool and laundry! What more could a girl ask for??
WI FI!
But it was
not to be..apparently my computer will not allow me to connect to the
network here....WHAT THE HECK?
After a few
hours I gave up and went to the lobby to use the internet. Not the
worst but the main reason I brought a laptop was so that I could use
it!
After all the
stress of trying to make it work I gave up and turned the TV on and
what do I find?
The Golden
Girls!!! SCORE!
I was happy
again and dozed off for the night.
Too bad it
was not really night and only 4:30.
Day 3 I think
Up at 2:30 am
I found out
about a crazy staircase near the hotel called Jacobs Ladder and I was
determined to burn off my frustration from the previous day so around
4:30 off I went.
I only counted about 250 step but it was a good workout and I was ready to conquer the day. Too bad the NHPW event was not for another 10 hours.
The rest of
the day was spent at the grocery store and in bed watching Arrested
Development. I knew I would need a nap so I tried my hardest but it
was not to be. As soon as I started to go my ride for the show was
here. So off I went....I did manage to sleep a little on the way and
after a coffee I was good to go.
The match was
a mixed tag and my side managed to pick up the victory so that was
pleasant.
I got to chat
with some good people and had a great time!
Then back to
the hotel. I could barely keep my eyes opened but I needed to do
laundry so after sorting out the correct change I was on my way to
freshness.
One load put
me down $8! Crazy I know but laundry is my passion and clean is my
obsession.
After about 5
hours of sleep I was up again and off for a run to visit the war
memorial. I took my camera and got some awesome shots.....
What a beautiful area right?
Oh and if you
couldn’t tell Day 4
This turned
out to be my favorite day in Australia.
My big plan
for the day was to go into the city and get a pedicure.
The
receptionist was kind enough to find me a place and they had
availability so I called to reserve my spot only to find out it
would cost $80!!!! What sort of pedicure are they giving you for $80?
I was not willing to find out.
I wasn’t
going to let that get me down though and the day turned out great
without the pampering.
I had fresh
laundry and that ALWAYS equals :) I also got to talk with home,
walked to a cafe and got to hang out with my ipod and my drink, read
in the sun on the balcony of my room, went to the outlets and
wrestled! I also scored some Subway and it was delicious! Not bad
right?
Last day
I got a good
nights sleep but up again at 5. No nap hopefully I will save that for
the 40 hours of travel that starts this evening.
After a
interval workout in my room (gotta do what you can). I decided to
invest in another load of laundry. You just cant put a price on the
joy that clean clothes brings.
In the
afternoon I headed down to the slaughter house and home of NHPW for a
training session. I tweaked my back a bit rolling so the session was
not too intense and seeing the house at and her kittens was the
highlight.
I was able to
catch a shower and smackdown before starting the journey home. I
REALLY enjoyed entire two hour program and if you missed it you
missed out.
Onto the
airport and the capitol of crap souvenirs. I figured the airport
would be the best place for all my Perth merchandise but was so let
down and picked up a big fat nothing.
Since I
somewhat adjusted to the time change and my flight was at 10:30 p.m I
was abe to sleep almost the entire 10 hours.
After a 3
hour layover in Dubai (one hour spent in line at security) I was
settled into the “long” part of my trip home. A whopping 13 hour
flight. I was excited to find the seat next to me empty and the guy
with the window seat was of very small stature so I took up the extra
space without guilt.
Not too much
sleep this go around thanks to a crying baby and incompetent parents.
Also my little friend decided to drink and knocked himself out for
the last 7 hours. Fine but he snored like giant ape.
I landed in
NYC annoyed with everything but prepared for a 5 hour layover. Once
through customs, security and a freshening up I was on the mission
for Starbucks. Starbucks did indeed make me feel better and less
anxious. I do want the travel over but the edge has been taken off.
Overall I had
a blast! Perth is beautiful and if you are into travel make a point
to see it.
Hopefully I
can catch up on my sleep and workouts before I leave for Joshimania
on Friday!!!!
