Success

Few things excite me more than new healthy recipes and tricks. Today I had a very successfull experiment with sweet potato in my protein shake! Yeah that's right now my spinach, peanut butter, vanilla protein shake is minus the banana and plus a sweet potato. So delicious...

This totally makes up for stabbing myself with a dull fork this morning. I though oh this is going to be a GREAT day and here we are three hours later and my day has been GREAT. I had a lovely bike ride to the gym, had a super good workout, strolled around my favorite store (the grocery store)and now this.

Today is going to rule!

If you want to make your day rule too try this cardio I invented yesterday. I named it the incline 8

You'll need a treadmill

as indicated by the name of the cardio you want to stay on an incline of 8 I'll include my speed b up do what is comfortable for you

5 min fast walk dont hold on speed 3.8

10 min of 30 sec sprint 30 sec rest sets speed 5.5

5 min lunges speed 1.5

10 more min 30 sec sprint 30 sec rest sets speed 5.5

Finish with another 5 min walk without holding on

Are you tired?

Then do some cardio!

You'll need a deck of cards!!

I warmed up 5 min on an elliptical I recommend a warm up for you too but whatever you choose is fine.

Here it is

Hearts = hop squats (keep your back straight and bring your hands to the floor so your finger tips touch the sides of your feet then explode up and reach your hands to the sky)

Diamonds = Plie squats (toes pointed out in a wide straddle position drop your butt till you reach a 90 degree angle then back up)

Spades = Lion pushups (aka dive bombers)

Clubs = Crab tap

5 min cool down your choice.

I did this more concentrated on form and not speed it was killer in a good way!

Have you missed cardio?

Well I haven't but I've missed telling you about it!

Today's cardio is not for the weak...

You'll need a spin bike (regular bike is fine but dont even bother on that lame seated one), treadmill, stair master and an elliptical with optional moving arms. You can sub any machine if one is not available but make sure they are all different.

What I did:

1 min warn up on the spin bike a nice moderate speed
4 min increase tension and stand

Switch

5 min walking lunges on the treadmill

Switch to stair mill

1 min straight step
1 min facing left (stepping up sideways)
1 min facing right
1 min single step flex/ slight back leg lift at the top
1 min two steps at a time

Switch

10 min on elliptical with arms
Every other min switch between steady arms on handles and crouching sprints with your arm stationary.

Switch back to the stair mill

1 min straight step
1 min facing left (stepping up sideways)
1 min facing right
1 min single step flex/ slight back leg lift at the top
1 min two steps at a time

Switch

5 min walking lunges on treadmill

Switch back to spin bike

4 min same increased tension standing
1 min sitting and an easy speed.

Yesterday's cardio

While I have som free time I might as well give you guys something not to look forward too.

I always imagine how great I'll feel after these cardio sessions I dream up but never realize how hard they will be to actually get through.

This one I would put at a 8 or 9 difficulty level. Or I was just really tired and made it extra difficult

Here we go

You'll need a deck of cards and a jump rope.

Warm up 5 min fast feetjumping with the rope

Deck of cards (you know the rep deal if not check past posts)

Hearts= burpee
Diamonds= long front lunges ( step out as far as you can and back)
Spades= crab taps (crab or table positiolift and touch opposite leg to hand)
Clubs= table makers (sit legs straight out I front of you hands on the ground, swing hips up to a table position)

Stretch!!!!

Been a little busy

So I have been slacking on the cardio posts. Never fear I have still been training just not updating you, hope you have had the time, energy and drive to keep on without me.

So SHIMMER happened!

I am so mad at Courtney Rush for making me a Tag Champion...Yes two belts are better than one and I deserve them both but it means I have to keep putting up with her. What to do?

I will have to put my annoyance with her on the back burner for this weekend while I take on and out Kobalt the little troll with the big mouth. Lets just say this in not a good week to be on my bad side and you little bugger will feel my wrath.

I think I have sufficiently worked myself up to go do some leg training....Talk to you soon!

If you are not a fan of uphill sprints

This cardio is NOT for you.

You will need a treadmill and guts

Warm up incline of 8 speed 3.8-4 for 5 minute

Increase incline to 15 and do 15 min of sprints (30 on 30 sec recover)I had a speed of 5.5

Drop incline to 8 and do another 15 min of sprints (30 sec on 30 recover)my speed was 6.5

Slow down to your starting speed on this incline for 5 min of cool down

Stretch.

When I thought of this cardio it seemed fairly easy but half way through I could taste my heart beating!!! That's a good sign right?

Elliptical circuit

Obviously you'll need an elliptical machine for today's cardo.

5 min steady warm up

1 min as fast as you can on a medium level (I did 5)

30 seconds on a hard level (I did 10)

Drop back down to your medium level for another minute as fast as you can

Hop off and do

10 push ups
20 Mt. Climbers ( right/left counts as one)
10 hop squats

Back on at a steady speed for a minute and a half to recover.

Repeate entire thing. I did this six times and it took about 40 min.

I also alternated directions on the elliptical one set forward then the next in reverse (when going in reverse squat down and stick your butt out, it looks funny but you can feel it much better)

To finish up I did a minute and a half wall sit. First 30 seconds feet together toes pointed forward, next 30 heels together toes pointed out and you guessed it last 30 toes together with your heels separated.

Just pack on the elliptical for a cool down at a stead speed.

I train hard so when I am faced with obsticales like the the idiocy of my colleagues I know I am mentally and physically stronger.

You will need a stop watch, jump rope and threadmill

Start with 5 min jog no incline

Speed up for 5 min of 30 second sprints.

Hop off

5 min steady pace jump rope

Back on the threadmill this time at an incline of 12 for 10 min of 30 second sprints

Hop off

5 more min of steady jump rope

Back on the threadmill for another set of 5 min 30 sec sprints no incline

And you guessed it 5 min steady jog no incline

All done.

I rode my bike to and from the gym so considered that a warm up and cool down but if not start and finish with a brisk walk and stretch!

Today's a ten

Good luck with this.... It took me 50 min to complete.

You'll need a jump rope and a deck of cards

You know the deal face cards=10, aces=15 and numbers are obviously the number

5 min steady jump rope to warm up

Go through the deck

Hearts - burpee (jump to the sky hands over your head, hands on the floor jump back into plank)

Diamonds - walk out push ups (place hands on the floos near feet walk out into a plank do the pushup, walk your hands back and stand straight up each time)

Spades - table makers (some call them hip raises)

Clubs - squat knee lift (hands on head, squat then raise your right knee to your right elbow, squat again left knee to left elbow this counts as one)

Finish with 1 min wall sit

Stretch!

Back on the horse

I never got off just forgot to update you all.

So here it is yesterday's cardio....I'll rank it a 6 on the 1-10 difficulty scale no the worlds hardes cardio but it did the trick.

You'll need a treadmill

Start and a jog speed 5.5 ish For 5 min

Speed up the pace for 10 min of sprints I did 7.5. 30 sprint 30 second rest

Slow down the pace for 5 min of walking lunges.

Another 5 min jog

10 more min of sprints

And you guessed it 5 min of walking lunges.

Your done!

I cooled down othe treadmill just quickened the pace to a brisk walk for a few min then stretched.

Not so bad right?

A little easier so give it a try

You'll need a treadmill

5 min warmup

Walk at an incline of 8 speed 3.8 (don't hold on)

Drop the incline to 0

10 min sprints speed 8

(30 seconds on 30 seconds rest)

Change the incline to 10

10 min uphill sprints speed 6

(1 min sprint drop speed to walk the incline for 1 min holding on here is allowed)

Drop the incline back to 0

10 min sprints speed 8

(30 seconds on 30 seconds rest)

5 min cool down

Incline 8 speed 3.8 (don't hold on)

STRETCH!

Today's cardio

I dare you to try

You'll need: a stop watch and a deck or cards

Warm up:

4 min circuit

15 seconds speed skaters
30 seconds alternating shoulder touch (from plank possition tap opposite shoulder with your hand)
45 seconds Mt. climber
1 min wall sit
45 seconds Mt. climber
30 seconds alternating shoulder touch
15 seconds of speed skaters

* Make sure the deck of cards is shuffled. Flip one card over at a time and do the exercise that corresponds with the card suit, reps= card value....face cards 10 and aces 15.

Hearts= PliƩ squat (wide base toes point out and lower your bottom)
Diamonds= Reverse lunges (don't be a wuss right/left count as one)
Spades= Table makers ( from crab position raise your hips till you look like a sturdy table)
Clubs= Puma push ups (look it up if you don't know)

Cool down:

4 min circuit

15 seconds alternating knee to tricep from plank
30 seconds alternating high kicks
45 seconds simulate jump rope
1 min crab tap (from crab position alternate touching opposite hand to foot)
45 seconds simulate jump rope
30 seconds alternating high kicks
15 seconds alternating knee to tricep from plank

STRETCH!

I was a little surprised when I heard. After all, we’re all very aware of the attention that WWE pays to women’s wrestling (ie a cursory glance every couple of weeks or so): why would a technically brilliant wrestler, revered the world over, want to move there?

And then you think about it. No matter how depressing the women’s division may be, the WWE is still the biggest professional wrestling stage. Of course Del Rey wants to work there.

Enjoying food

It struck me today how much I enjoy the food I eat daily. The actual food has not changed in well over a year just the serving size. Some might call how I eat a diet and think its nuts but for me it's just what I have to do to get where I want to be.



Ever since I started training for wrestling I understood my eating habits would need to change, I just didn't have the knowledge I needed. For me like many other people food is such a comfort that when I think about being on a diet I thought of sacrifice and starving.



That is completely not so....I've learned to be satisfied with all the delicious "healthy" options out there. don't get me wrong this took ten years, believe me many a day I had deams of the buffet and just wanting to be satisfied but I learned there is no food out there that will satisfy me when I get that feeling. I enjoy feeling good!




Christmas 2010 I figured it's the holidays I can indulge right??? 5 days later and a total of 35 Christmas cookies down I felt disgusting. I had to have a serious talk with myself about why I indulge to the point of uncomfort and decided then my body, head and heart all need to be on the same page. Why is my mind telling me go for it when my body is saying no more?



Once I got back home and into the swing of work, training and travel I kept in mind the little talk I have with myself. I felt great and with the help of a new trainer I was starting to get the results I wanted. I had more freedom in my diet since I was just given totals of protein, fat and carbs I had to hit in a day. I started experimenting with veggies and finding new and exciting things to do with oatmeal.



This past Christmas I was really worried with all the parties and family gatherings would I cave? Would I feel excluded from the holiday cheer without desert? Could I indulge a little and feel satisfied?



I am happy to report it was a breeze. I made smart decisions and didn't feel like I COULDNT have anything. I told myself I could have anything I wanted but I really thought about how it would make me feel after and most of the "crap" was not worth it. That's not to say I didn't eat any crap..I had one bite of three different deserts on Christmas day and was completely content.




Life is such a crazy process. I went 30 years with what I would call an un healthy relationship with food. I wish young Sara knew the things older Sara knows but that is all part of the process!

The day is almost over and it has been good to me. The cat let me sleep in till 7:30, I had a great chest and tricep workout, had coffee, found a new flavor of gum (see my tweet), got some research done and now deciding if I should do cardio before RAW. Ah decisions..... How was your Monday?

I've let it be known

My main goal in 2012 is the WWE.

Ever since 2001 when I started training I've 100% dedicated myself to pro wrestling and being the BEST I can be. I am at a point now that if I don't at least try I will always wonder if I could make it in the WWE.

I have always been a beast in the gym but over the past few months along with my trainer I have completely changed  the way I lift and workout. A lot of people have asked me to post my routine but since I really just follow a plan set up for me I wouldn't feel right sharing with the public. (I actually don't think I technically can anyways ).

Other than that what would you like out of me this year? A youtube channel perhaps???

Last year literally my dreams came true how can I top that? A youtube channel perhaps???
